Travel disruptions

Building the massive 9km twin rail tunnels and five new underground stations will cause some unavoidable transport disruption for several years.

Domain area

St Kilda Road

From 25 September, St Kilda Road will intermittently be reduced to one lane in the city-bound direction between Kings Way and Bowen Crescent. These intermittent closures will be in place on St Kilda Rd for approximately 14 days over a 24 day period.

During this period there will be partial city-bound lane closures between Albert Road and Park Street until 17 October.

Park Street

The left turn onto Park Street from St Kilda Road will be closed from 25 September to mid-October. During this time there will also be traffic management on Park Street as we undertake service proving works.

Domain Road

Domain Road is closed temporarily, for five years, at the intersection of St Kilda Road.

Albert Road

The Southern leg is closed until further notice.

Parkville area

Royal Parade

Royal Parade will be reduced to one lane and one turning lane in the city-bound direction between Story Street and Grattan Street from 2 October until mid November.

Grattan Street

Grattan Street will be fully closed between Royal Parade and Berkeley Street over 4 weekends in October and November.
