Tram works on Park Street

The Park Street tram stop (Stop 119) is now located on Park Street, South Melbourne to the west of Wells Street and Palmerston Crescent.

The new stop replaces the stop previously located at the intersection of Kings Way and Park Street.

Yarra Trams constructed a new Park Street tram stop (PDF, 2.3 MB), located to the west of Wells Street and Palmerston Crescent, replacing the prior stop 119 which was located at the intersection of Kings Way and Park Street. Works took place between 8 January and 17 February.

The new stop will safely cater for the increasing number of passengers on the route 58 tram and provides improved access to the tram network during and following completion of the Metro Tunnel Project.

Pedestrian access to the tram stop is available at the crossing points near Millers Lane and Wells Street/ Palmerston Crescent. Permanent access changes to the intersection of Wells Street and Palmerston Crescent allow for safe vehicle turning movements and tram operations.
