Construction on the Mernda line

The health and safety of our workers and the community is our key priority as we continue to deliver the Metro Tunnel Project, as is supporting physical distancing measures in line with current health advice.

We have strict protocols in place to protect the safety of our construction workforce, including enhanced industrial cleaning arrangements, provision of personal protective equipment and measures to reduce staff contact, including staggered shifts.

Due to current restrictions, Victorians are being asked to only travel if it’s essential, stay home and slow the spread of coronavirus. For those who need to travel, there may be some disruptions that will affect your journey.

Extra cleaning is being carried out on all bus replacement services to keep passengers and staff safe. Commuters are being asked to practice good hand hygiene and maximise the distance between other passengers.
