Service investigations will be undertaken in Lothian Street, south of Arden Street, to prepare for ground improvement works ahead of cross passage construction in this location.

There will be closures in place on Lothian Street during these works with signage and traffic controllers in place.

These works are expected to generate medium to high levels of noise.

For further details, see the works notification (PDF, 615.8 KB).

Ongoing

Arden work site

Ongoing site development activities including construction storage, laydown areas and modifications to existing gates and hoarding on Laurens and Arden streets.

These works will involve the intermittent closure of Laurens Street down to one lane, with traffic flow maintained in both directions.

For further details, see the June works notification (PDF, 1.3 MB).

Large cranes will be used to move and connect TBM pieces at ground level and lower them into the station box.

These works are ongoing until October 2019 and will occur overnight as well during the day.

For further details, see the June works notification (PDF, 1.3 MB).

Construction of the concrete base slab and removal of steel struts from the western end of the station box will occur where the TBM pieces will be lowered in.

These works will occur:

  • 7am to 6pm, Saturdays and Sundays until July 2019 (Strut removal works).
  • 24 hours until August 2019 (Excavation and strut installation works).

These works are expected to generate medium levels of noise.

For further details, see the June works notification (PDF, 1.3 MB).

Station box excavation, installing steel supports (struts) inside the excavated station box and base slab construction will occur until mid-2019.

These works will occur:

  • 24 hours, Monday to Saturday until mid-2019.

All out of hours works are expected to generate low levels of noise.

For further details, see the April works notification (PDF, 748.9 KB).

Further, works to remove some remaining pile foundations at the far western end of the station construction site are underway.

This activity will involve removing piles using a piling rig, creter crane, excavator and drum roller. Concrete grinding will occur during the pile removal process which is expected to generate intermittent periods of high level noise while some vibration might be experienced when the drum roller is in use.

These works will be undertaken from 7am to 6pm on weekdays and 7am to 5pm on Saturdays.
