Construction on the Sunbury line
Work is now underway to support construction of a new platform at West Footscray station.
We are also undertaking site and service investigations along the Sunbury line to help inform detailed planning and design.
From 23-25 February, buses will replace trains on the Werribee, Williamstown and Sunbury lines 7pm to 4am nightly.
We are currently consulting on our construction plans at West Footscray Station.

23-25 February | Werribee, Williamstown and Sunbury lines | Due to necessary 24-hour works, buses will be replacing trains on the Werribee, Williamstown and Sunbury lines. Works will take place in the rail corridor from approximately 7pm Saturday to 4am Monday morning. These works are expected to generate medium to high levels of noise and low levels of vibration. From 10 February | Braybrook | To support Metro Tunnel works we will use the construction site area on the corner of Ashley and Rupert streets, Braybrook between 6pm-7am from Sunday 10 to Thursday 14 February, and from 1pm Saturday 23 to 7am, Monday 25 February. This site will continue to be used throughout construction of the Metro Tunnel for the delivery, storage and assembly of materials, worker amenities and car parking. These work activities are expected to generate low levels of noise. Use of temporary light towers powered by generators will be required. We will position lights so they face away from residential properties, where possible. Construction vehicles will access the site via Ashley Street. |
Early 2019 | West Footscray Station | To enable construction of the new station platform, up to 40 parking spaces at West Footscray station will be occupied from early 2019 for laydown of construction materials and a crane for delivery of materials into the works zone. |
