Long-term closures – from February 2020
- Until construction complete: Closed between Swanston and Victoria streets.
- Franklin Street reduced to one lane-width when approaching Swanston Street from Elizabeth Street.
Access to businesses and residential buildings will be maintained at all times. Traffic management will be in place as needed to safely guide motorists, pedestrians and cyclists around work areas.
The western section of Franklin Street is open to two-way traffic. When entering from Elizabeth Street, Franklin Street will reduce to a one lane-width road as motorists approach Swanston Street due to the presence of work sites and the Franklin Street West acoustic shed.
The eastern section of Franklin Street between Swanston and Victoria streets is closed until 2022. Motorists can access Franklin Street through Victoria and Swanston streets.
