Temporary lane closure – July 2020
A concrete pump will be installed on Swanston Street adjacent to the La Trobe Street site to facilitate construction of the future State Library Station.
To enable concrete pump installation works, there will be pedestrian path and road closures during July.
Ongoing footpath closures on Swanston Street will be required at night (refer to map below).
Detours and traffic management will be in place during this time.
The northbound lane on Swanston Street between La Trobe and Little La Trobe streets will be closed to motorists as required (refer to map).
There will be an overnight closure for unloading and assembly of a concrete washout gantry for one day in late July.
A road closure will also be required for one day in July between 1am and 5am for tram pole installation works.
Access to Little La Trobe Street and Literature Lane during the closures will be via Elizabeth Street (refer to map).
Swanston Street north of Little La Trobe Street will be accessible to motorists via Elizabeth and Little La Trobe streets (refer to map).
Traffic management will be in place during these works to safely guide pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists around the work area.
