The Design Manager – Rail Systems is responsible for client side management of design, development and engineering across Rail Projects Victoria's (RPV) Melbourne Airport Rail (MAR) package of works. The Design Manager will provide technical advice and guidance across a range of engineering and design issues during project development and delivery. This role co-ordinates all technical and engineering support for the Rail Systems package, including the development of requirements and the review of designs for completeness, compliance to requirements, standards and constructability, drawing upon technical specialist advice from subject matter experts to resolve a range of engineering design challenges. This role will also be responsible for managing a team of technical advisors to prepare reference designs. The ability to build, maintain and influence strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders is fundamental to the success of this role.

Design Coordination Manager

RPV, MTIA is seeking to engage a Design Coordination Manager. This role will be responsible for the technical oversight and review of station design, construction documentation and construction activities as they relate to detail design and installation of station architecture and finishes across the RPV Tunnel and Stations team. Documentation includes design packages, management plans, technical reports, materials and samples for the five underground stations. The Design Coordination Manager will also provide technical advice and guidance on a range of engineering issues across the project. Interface Manager

Reporting to the Senior Interface Manager - ARTOs, this role is responsible for engagement with Accredited Rail Transport Operators (ARTOs) during the Reference Design and Procurement phases of the Melbourne Airport Rail Project. The role will involve engaging with Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM), V/Line, ARTC & VicTrack in relation to track, civil, structures, signalling, overhead wire, stations and power designs to seek alignment and approval of concepts during the Reference Design phase of the project.

Digital Engineering Lead

The MAR Digital Engineering Lead sits within the project's Engineering team. This role will drive the management of digital engineering data across the project lifecycle and will ensure the delivery of the MAR project aligns with the overarching digital engineering goals of Rail Projects Victoria. Reporting to the Director, Engineering, this role will support the project throughout its lifecycle, including supporting the development and managing the implementation of RPV's asset data requirements, asset tagging strategy and an asset breakdown structure for all rail related asset classes in partnership with key stakeholders including the Department of Transport and Rail Operators.

Furthermore, this role will actively manage digital engineering data, asset data and traditional drawings management system completions submissions to Rail Projects Victoria, Department of Transport and Rail Transport Operators. This role will establish and chair a MAR Digital Engineering Working Group, driving consistency in the approach to sharing digital engineering data across delivery packages. The Digital Engineering Lead will indirectly report (dotted line) to the RPV Digital Engineering Asset Manager, and will assist in providing senior leadership and specialist guidance on digital engineering asset management frameworks, processes and systems, throughout the project lifecycle.

Senior Project Manager - Signalling and Rolling Stock

The Senior Project Manager is required to identify, understand and resolve issues that arise between the High Capacity Metro Train (HCMT) and the Rail Systems Alliance (RSA), through the delivery phase of the Metro Tunnel Project. With the support of a team of interface planners, the Senior Project Manager is responsible for the monitoring of interface progress between the HCMT and RSA Work Packages. The role will need to provide strategic program advice and support to Package Teams, the Integrated Program Team and Leadership Teams within Rail Projects Victoria. Working with the Integrated Program Manager, the Senior Project Manager ensures completeness, accuracy and clarity of programs. The identification of critical works and interfaces between the packages of the Metro Tunnel Project as well as effective communication of program status including any delays and issues arising along with mitigation strategies are key activities of the role. The role will require experience in project delivery or rail projects, involving either major signalling or the delivery of new rolling stock. The ability to build and maintain strong relationships across a broad range of internal and external stakeholders and manage and communicate project implications of complex technical issues is fundamental for success in this role.

Design Manager, Conventional Signalling

The Design Manager, Conventional Signalling, will assist the various Engineering Managers in the technical oversight and review of signalling design and construction documentation across Rail Projects Victoria for the Rail Infrastructure and Rail Systems Alliance teams. The Design Manager, Conventional Signalling, will work within one of the two alliance packages, actively managing the design program, technical issues, standard waiver development and type approval development for new products. The role is also responsible for identifying project risks and developing recommendations and strategies to mitigate those risks.
