Applications for the 2019 Professionals Program are now open
Rail Projects Victoria (RPV) is introducing a two-year training and development program for those looking to fast-track their career through a structured training and development program.
The program provides an opportunity to work on major rail infrastructure projects including the Metro Tunnel Project, Regional Rail Revival, and Melbourne Airport Rail Link.
Opportunities will be available in the following roles:
- Planner and scheduler - now open
- Cost controller - coming soon
- Project engineers - coming soon
Planning and programming is a crucial function at RPV, and robust programs that have the project team’s buy-in are fundamental for the successful delivery of all RPV projects.
Planning and programming extends well beyond the ability to develop and update programs. Successful Planners are expert communicators and facilitators, have strong project management skills and seek to develop a detailed and comprehensive overview of the status of projects. For these reasons they often adopt the role of ‘trusted advisor’ to Senior Management.
Over 2 years you will be involved in carefully structured learning modules that will introduce you to best practice planning and programming methods and techniques from a high performing team of Senior Planners within RPV, many with more than 15 to 20 years’ industry experience.
As well as providing advanced training for Primavera P6 and other software applications the 2 year course will focus on developing professional communication and collaboration, reporting, negotiation and project management skills.
Embedded within RPV’s project delivery teams and working closely with RPV’s Planners you will have the opportunity to put your existing and developing skills into practice by assisting with the development, management and reporting of programs and strategic plans for RPV’s portfolio of major infrastructure projects.
