Metro Tunnel

Graduate Program: Lee (Electrical Engineering)

I'm Lee. I studied at Victoria University and I'm from Melbourne.

How did you find out about the graduate program?

I actually saw the position advertised on Seek.

Why did you choose Metro Tunnel?

Melbourne Metro Rail Authority is going to deliver two nine-kilometre tunnels through Melbourne. This new infrastructure project is going to help shape Melbourne into becoming a world-leading city. And I think to be involved in a project of that scale is just really exciting.

How was the recruitment process?

First off, I filled out an online application and then, from there, we had a video interview. Then we came in and had a group exercise, which was an interview. It was a problem- solving exercise and I felt that all the Melbourne Metro Rail Authority staff and recruitment personnel were really helpful and encouraging.

Tell us something interesting about yourself?

Well, I love to paint. But unfortunately, recently I haven't had that much time to focus on it. But I'd love, one day, to perhaps even have an exhibition.

What do you hope to get out of the Graduate Program?

Well, I'm currently working with the engineering department and I feel I'm working with just really amazingly talented professionals. So I'd love to learn as much as I can from them. I'd also love to develop a career within the rail industry.

What have you found interesting so far?

Well, everything about this project is on a vast scale and I think to be involved in a project like that, it draws the best people, the best suppliers, the best products. So I think, just on that fact alone, it's just really exciting.
