Rail Projects Victoria (RPV) is the Victorian Government body responsible for the delivery of the Metro Tunnel Project, Regional Rail Revival, Melbourne Airport Rail and the Western Rail Plan including fast rail between key regional cities.
Construction is underway on the Metro Tunnel which will untangle the City Loop, and benefit train lines across the network.
The Regional Rail Revival program is upgrading every regional passenger train line in Victoria, and is a joint initiative of the Australian and Victorian governments.
Melbourne Airport Rail will connect Melbourne Airport to all metropolitan and regional rail lines via Sunshine.
The Sunbury Line Upgrade will enable more modern trains to run more often on the line, creating room for 113,000 more passengers every week.
Planning for projects including electrification to Melton and Wyndham Vale, increased capacity between Sunshine and the CBD, and major investment in the Geelong and Ballarat line.
Due to works on the Metro Tunnel, buses will replace trains on parts of the Cranbourne, Pakenham, Frankston, Sandringham lines from Thursday 2 until Thursday 30 January.
Gippsland trains will be replaced by coaches between Bairnsdale, Traralgon and Southern Cross from Thursday 2 until Thursday 30 January as works on the new Avon River rail bridge in Stratford are carried out.
